Flexible, Mechanically Robust, Light-Weight Ceramic

Standard 20 micron thickness, 3YSZ composition and proprietary manufacturing techniques result in a flexible ceramic that is mechanically robust and chemically inert, and that can be contoured to curved product form factors. High bend strength > 1GPa.

Wafer sizes provide compatibility with semiconductor processing equipment.
Strips and sheet sizes permit multi-up production or interconnection on designs

High Temperature Tolerance

Temperatures up to 1200ºC for processing and operating temperatures to 1000ºC enable deposition of innovative new material coatings for increased efficiencies and performance.

High Thermal Shock Tolerance

Enables faster production processing, and permits repeated rapid temperature transitions in applications.  CTE is 10.7 x 10-6/ºK at 1000ºC.

Advantages of Using Thin E-Strate®

Thin E-Strate® for active or passive device fabrication. More robust than silicon.

As a ceramic, 3YSZ is inert, of high purity, tolerates processing temperatures to 1200°C, and with its low thermal mass can tolerate high thermal shock during deposition or coating processes.

Being ultra thin to 20 microns thick, it presents a very low thermal resistance path for heat removal and a super thin profile for component coating.  Multi-layers of active layer coated Thin E-Strate® can easily be stacked into low profile components.
